NSW; Man stabbed during TAB robbery

SYDNEY, Aug 28 AAP - A man who was stabbed in the back when three men held up a Sydneybetting agency overnight will undergo emergency surgery today.

NSW Police said the 39-year-old employee of the Lackey Street TAB in Summer Hill suffereda stab wound to the lower back after being confronted by three men, one of whom was armedwith a knife.

Police said the men forced the employee into the rear of the shop about 11pm (AEST)yesterday before stabbing him and making off with a sum of money.

The employee was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition wherehe is expected to undergo surgery later this morning.

Police are seeking three men of Aboriginal appearance aged in their late teens or early20s who were last seen heading in the direction of Smith Street, Summer Hill.
