NSW: One dead, two injured after pedestrian incident

SYDNEY, Aug 9 AAP - A teenager is dead and two others injured after being hit by a
ute on the NSW far south coast.

The 17-year-old boy and five friends had been walking along Southhead Road at Moruya
about 7.15pm (AEST) yesterday on the way to a party, police say.

"At about 300 metres west of the Congo Road, a Toyota HiLux struck the young man and
injured two of his friends," police said is a statement.

The 17-year-old is believed to have been killed instantly.

The other victims - girls aged 15 and 16 - were taken to Moruya Hospital with minor injuries.

The 17-year-old youth driving the HiLux is helping police with their investigations
into the incident.
