VIC:Man's body found in house

MELBOURNE, Dec 28 AAP - Police have not ruled out foul play in the death of a man whose
body was discovered in a house in Melbourne's northeast.

The body was found by a family friend about 11.30am (AEDT) on Tuesday at the single-storey
brick house in Doncaster Rd, Donvale.

Detective Senior Sergeant Shane O'Connell from the Homicide Squad told reporters the
death was, at this stage, being treated as suspicious.

It was not known how long the body had been there or the cause of death.

He said the body was yet to be formally identified and police were in the process of
notifying the man's family.

"We've had a number of witnesses that have come forward to assist us and they're currently
with us and assisting with our investigation," he said.

It is believed to be the man's house.

Forensic detectives were at the house, which had been cordoned off.
