NSW: Cauldron trip delayed until today

The Sydney Olympics cauldron is due to make a sea journey to its site in Homebush today.

Time and tide conspired yesterday to delay the journey back from a factory in Sydney's
southern suburbs where it has been overhauled.

The cauldron will leave its Botany Bay mooring at 7am (AEST) today and is expected
to be at Homebush Bay by about 3pm.

It is to be relit on the first anniversary of the Sydney Olympics in September and
will burn for three weeks.

After that, the cauldron will be re-lit for special occasions.
